Holy shit. Not that this is any different from what they have said for years, but reading dry texts just doesn't come across the same as seeing a movie.
I guess this is all the ammo I need to make sure my daughter doesn't visit the convention.
Btw I read somewhere there's also a part in the video where the guy actually kills his own Baal priest father....anyone have a link to that video?

How do Jehovah's Witnesses get away with lying about the scripture?
by Capitanul inthey can edit their own versions to conform to their doctrines but what's stopping people to hand flyers or glue posters with the actual quotes in contradiction to their statements?.
examples:.

That will never happen coz God has left the universe !
Interestingly, according to Bible theology God always resided outside the universe. After all, He supposedly existed before He created the universe.
The average JW otoh never think about anything outside the universe.
Watchtower keeps blabbering about universal sovereignty....as if God is not sovereign outside the universe in their theology.
God lives in the heavens. God also created the heavens in the beginning. So where did He live before He created the heavens?
Yeah I know, logic against myths....

Crazy ass excuses
by Crazyguy2 inso it was brought up lately that my lack of faith is partially do to stories in the bible like the one in samuel where god kills david’s first born son.
the excuse i heard today wasn’t that god killed david’s son no he just didn’t bless him so then he died.
wtf!!!

The parable of the Good Samaritan implies that if someone needs your help and you don't help them, you're not a nice person.
There's plenty of Bible verses that indicate that you should help people of.you can, and if you don't you're an asshole.
Supposedly life is sacred, but apparently not to God.
But hey, pathetic excuses is what you get when trying to make sense of contradicting stories and myths with obsolete morals...

Matthew 24:37-39 Proves That Jesus is Fictional
by APieceOfShitNamedTate ini was doing some browsing today on http://watchtowerletters.com and discovered a very thought provoking point.
the fact is that the flood of noah's day does not stand up to scientific scrutiny or common sense.
this becomes all the more apparent when considering an ancient story like the epic of gilgamesh.

Jup.
Likewise with literal Adam and Eve, created in 4026BC. That absolutely didn't happen. If not, then the whole original sin and redemption don't follow from the story either.
In fact even the Bible claims that Jesus is the bigger Adam or something. Since Adam is a mythical person, so is Jesus.
Apparently quite a few Christian churches seem to be able to make their theology work regardless, but I don't see it.

Jehovah’s Witness who posted criticisms on Reddit can remain anonymous, judge rules
by Tameria2001 inhttps://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/jehovah-s-witness-who-posted-criticisms-on-13855357.php.
i had this article pop up about the darksilver case.
it says a federal magistrate in san francisco has now ruled that darksilver can remain anonymous but then it says except for identification to lawyers for the religion’s watchtower publication.

We can google WT attorney's name and find out if he's with a decent firm/sole practitioner
Paul Polidoro both lives and works at Watchtower HQ.

What if the householder agrees or provides consent to the publisher to record his personal details to facilitate a future visit?
Here's the interesting thing about GDPR: it's not just about a person consenting. There's a whole array of rules and requirements to take care of when it comes to GDPR:- The person must unambiguously and voluntarily consent, and there must be a record of it. So JW would need to have a form the householder can sign?
- The person must be informed beforehand for what purposes his data will be used, how long it will be retained, whom it will be shared with, etc. So JW would have to have a policy on that and make that available to the return visit.
- The person would have the right to view the data JW stored on him, have errors corrected, or his data removed completely. Whom would a person have to contact when it comes to return visit records?
- The JW must have clear and written policy on how they'll protect the data. They can't leak it in any way or form; it must be stored quite secure and accessible only to authorized people. The messy paper notes in sister Seniles handbag or floating around in bro. Twentysomething Pioneers car aren't exactly that.
And so on and so on. Getting consent is the least of the troubles of GDPR.
And Watchtower will be co-responsible and co-liable for each and every note that any publisher makes....
That's why they said: No. More. Notes.
There is no way Watchtower could safely (for their wallet) arrange this. No even Jehovah could help them on this.

@thefallguy:
This case wasn't really about copyright yet. It was about whether Reddit should disclose Darkspilvers identity to Watchtower.
So the judge only checked if Watchtower's copyright claim have at least some merit. This judge didn't need to really rule on whether Darkspilver violated copyright or not.
The judged ruled that Watchtowers case has enough merit to justify sueing him for copyright infringement, therefore she ordered Reddit to give up his ID to Watchtowers lawyers.

Does the GB/WT now ,ever talk about 6,000 years of human history ?
by smiddy3 inin c.t.russell`s time it was supposed to have ended in the late 1880`s ,when jesus christ was supposed to have returned in 1874 ,and armageddon was to have happened in 1914 according to wt publications back then .. around about 1968/9 they amended that time frame to the year 1975 as the end of 6000 years of human history ,and they said in their publications that it would be an appropriate time for christ jesus to begin his 1000 year rule over the earth.. which would align with wt teaching that a creative day was 7,000 years long.. i think the book was "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god " wtb&ts .
my question is : do they still talk about 6,000 of human history ?.
do they still talk about 7,000 years as a creative day ?
